ATLANTA – In light of world events since Sept. 11, 2001, a renewed focus on the apocalypse is gripping Christians in America, and many have been intrigued by Biblical prophecies for years.
The best-selling series of “Left Behind” books are influencing the world view of many Baptists, especially on college campuses and in local churches.
The Center for Baptist Studies at Mercer University will provide a careful critique and scrutiny of “Left Behind” theology in the one-day seminar, “‘Left Behind’ Theology and Baptist Life” from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., April 9, in the Medical School Auditorium on Mercer’s Macon campus.
Dr. William E. Hull, noted Bible teacher, former Baptist pastor and longtime Baptist educator, now research professor at Samford University, will be the featured conference leader. Hull will analyze “Left Behind-ism” in light of New Testament teachings. Dr. Scott Nash, associate professor in the Roberts Department of Christianity of Mercer University, will speak on the “Left Behind” theology and the book of Revelation.
