Atlanta— With increasing concern about healthcare costs for the elderly, Mercer University’s Southern School of Pharmacy will present “Prescription Drug Coverage under Medicare” as part of its Centennial Forum Lecture Series at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28 in the Cecil B. Day Auditorium of Mercer’s Atlanta campus.

Celebrating 100 years of pharmacy education, the School of Pharmacy continues its lecture series with keynote speaker Bruce Roberts, Executive Vice-president and Chief Executive Officer of the National Community Pharmacists Association.

Roberts has more than 25 years of service in the pharmacy profession. He opened Leesburg Pharmacy in Leesburg, Va., which now provides innovative services such as compounding, nutritional counseling, health screenings, hospice care and various disease management services.

His honors include being named the Innovative Pharmacist of Virginia in 1998 and the Community Practitioner of the Year in 2000. Roberts has also served on numerous boards and advisory panels for national health care organizations.

Reservations are required for the lecture and luncheon. Please email cooper_a@mercer.edu or call (678) 547-6224 by Aug. 25 to reserve a seat.
