Mercer to Host State-Wide High School Math Competition

WHO:  An estimated 200 high school students from across the state,       including teams from Macon’s Central High School, Northeast High School, Mount De Sales Academy and First Presbyterian High School as well as Warner Robins’ Houston County High School, Gray’s Jones County High School and Fort Valley’s Peach County High School
 
WHAT: High school teams will face off in a day-long math competition with a pen and pencil component in the morning and a fast-paced ciphering contest in the afternoon, in which students will have two minutes to complete complex math problems. Mercer Math Department faculty and students will serve as judges.
 
WHEN:  Saturday, Nov. 8, 9:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 – 3 p.m.
 
WHERE: Mercer University School of Medicine Auditorium
 
BACKGROUND:   This is the 19th year Mercer University has hosted  the state-wide high school math competition.
