Mercer to Co-Host Counseling Workshop Series

Atlanta-In conjunction with the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia (LPCA), Mercer University will host a series of workshops for counseling professionals, counseling students and the general public on Mercer’s Atlanta Campus.
 
The first workshop will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, in the Cecil B. Day Auditorium. This day-long session is entitled “Evolving Ethics: Trends, Dilemmas and Contradictions.” Joanna Colrain, co-founder of Metropolitan Counseling Services, will serve as the moderator for the panel discussion. The workshop will count for 5 Continuing Education Units (CEU) for counseling professionals. The workshop is free for LPCA members, $85 for non-members and $42.50 for student non-members.

A statewide counseling fair, designed for graduate counseling and psychology students, will feature speakers on a variety of topics, such as psychopharmacology. It will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, in Cecil B. Day Auditorium.

A workshop entitled “For the Love of Money: Unraveling the Mystery of Your Financial World” will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 19, on Mercer’s Atlanta Campus. This workshop is open to the public. 

The LPCA/Mercer University workshop series will conclude with the Master Therapist Series, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, and Saturday, Oct. 23, on Mercer’s Atlanta Campus. Scott D. Miller, Ph D., will be the featured speaker. His discussion, “Pathways to Possibility with Difficult Cases,” will count as 10 core CEU’s for counseling professionals.
