MACON, Ga. – Christian groups Casting Crowns and other live Christian bands will be performing in Mercer University’s Willingham Auditorium and the historic Quad. BandFest 2004 is being sponsored by Mercer’s Religious Life Organizations.

The concert event begins at 12 noon, with various Christian bands in Willingham Auditorium. The feature performance, Casting Crowns, will begin at 8 p.m. on the Quad.

This concert event is free and is open to all that are interested.


Background on Casting Crowns: This Atlanta based band is known for its heartfelt pop/rock feel with a slick production. This group had no intentions of going national, but with the right steps falling into place they have recently released there first self-titled album, Casting Crowns.

At the center of this band is veteran youth pastor Mark Hall, singer and songwriter. The band’s other members are Juan Devevo on guitar and vocals, Melodee Devevo on violin and vocals, Hector Cervantes on guitar and vocals, Andy Williams on drums, Chris Huffman on bass, and Megan Garrett on keyboard, accordion, and vocals.
