Atlanta—Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy’s chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Students of Pharmacy (APhA-ASP) was recently recognized with a Chapter Achievement Award at the APhA-ASP annual meeting in Seattle, Wash.
Twenty members of Mercer’s APhA-ASP chapter attended the awards program, where they accepted the second of the only two Class A Chapter Achievement Awards given. The Class A division includes schools with an enrollment of greater than 450 student pharmacists. More than 85 schools submitted reports to compete for the Awards.
The APhA-ASP Chapter Achievement Awards Program was created to annually recognize outstanding achievements, activities and programs of APhA-ASP chapters. The program is an extension of APhA-ASP’s mission to provide professional growth while promoting the future of pharmacy. The awards program also embraces the core ideas of APhA-ASP’s mission to create new standards of leadership, professionalism, membership, patient care and legislative advocacy among student pharmacists nationwide.
With more than 100 years of experience, the Southern School of Pharmacy is a recognized leader in pharmacy education. Receiving a record 1,822 applicants for this fall, the School has the highest applicant to student ratio in the nation.
