MACON—Swedish physicist and professor Dr. Claes Fredriksson will visit Mercer University this fall as a scholar-in-residence for the College of Liberal Arts. During the semester, he will teach in the Department of Environmental Science, as well as engage in research and discussion with College of Liberal Arts and School of Engineering faculty.
Fredriksson currently serves as a full-time faculty member at the University of Trollhättan/Uddevalla (HTU) in Sweden, where he also chairs the faculty senate. He comes to Mercer through the support of the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT), which places Swedish faculty members in American universities in order to experience life in an American academic community.
His current research project involves the system development of biogas as fuel for vehicles in Trollhättan. His work has also appeared in numerous publications, including the Journal of Materials Science. Fredriksson completed his doctor of philosophy in theoretical physics at Linköping University in Sweden.
