Atlanta—Gov. Sonny Perdue recently announced the appointment of Mercer alumna Delynn Marie Keeton to the Georgia Board of Nursing.
Consisting of eight members, the Georgia Board of Nursing is responsible for the regulation of 85,000 registered professional nurses and 4,500 advanced practice registered nurses. Board members also develop guidelines that set the standards for nursing practice, education and qualifications for licensure. Each member is selected by the governor.
Keeton, a 1982 graduate of the Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, currently serves as the director of risk management for DeKalb Regional Healthcare System. She previously served as the director of nursing and as the interim CEO at Decatur Hospital.
In the community, Keeton has shared her time with the Ronald McDonald House, of which she has served as president. She is also a member of the Sterling Institutional Review Board.
