MACON– Mercer University will hold its annual Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. The Mardi-Gras themed parade will feature floats from campus organizations and the local community. The parade will begin at the Walter F. George School of Law atop Coleman Hill. It will continue to Georgia Avenue, then to College Street and wrap around the outskirts of the University's main Macon campus ending at Porter Track, off Stadium Drive.
The parade will feature approximately 16 floats designed by Mercer students, an ROTC Hummer, fire trucks and the Mercer Homecoming Court. Dr. Kedrick Hartfield, assistant professor of mathematics in Mercer's College of Liberal Arts, will serve as grand marshal.
Prime spots to catch a good view of the parade include Tattnall Square Park and the sidewalks along College Street between Forsyth Street and Coleman Avenue.
