Delta Sigma Pi and SSBE Host Business Week

Macon—The Stetson School of Business and Economics of Mercer University and the Delta Sigma Pi honorary business fraternity will host a variety of activities in conjunction with their annual Business Week, March 28-April 1, on the Macon campus.
 
Designed to give students interested in the business field the opportunity to learn from professionals, the theme for this year’s Business Week is “Plugging Into the World of Business.”
 
“Business Week enables students to interact with business executives and working professionals so they can see the real-world applications of the business principles learned in the classroom,” said James Nixon, public relations chair for Delta Sigma Pi’s Business Week Committee.

Listed below are the events planned for Business Week. All events are on the Macon Campus:
 
Monday, March 28: “Daring to Be Innovative and Creative”

10 -11 a.m. – “Daring to Be Innovative and Creative.”

6 p.m.– “Marketing Your Future”
Speaker: Dan Tidwell, vice president of marketing, Randall Publishing House

Tuesday, March 29: “Finding Solutions to Further Professional Growth”

7 p.m. – “The Do’s and Don’t’s of Business”
Speaker: Ernest Evans, chief financial officer, IKON Financial Services

Wednesday, March 30: “Financial, Career and Personal Development”

10 – 11 a.m. –  “401K’s, Investments and Insurance”

6 – 7:30 p.m. – “Professional Development Sessions” (mock interviews and resume critiquing

8 p.m. – “Dressing for the Job You Want” (professional fashion show with student participants) Students attending this will need to bring a canned food good to donate to the Methodist Home for Children and Youth.

Thursday, March 31: “A Call to Action”

7 p.m. – “Diversity and Integrity in the Workplace”

Friday, April 1:

11 a.m.-2 p.m. – “There’s No Such Thing as a Free Lunch”
Representatives from various businesses will be present. Free lunch catered by Caliente’s.
