MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Athletic Department’s annual “Big Auction” is set for Thursday, May 19 at the University Center. The “Big Auction” is a fund-raiser for Mercer athletics and has hundreds of items available, varying from several automobiles to a weekend of Atlanta Braves baseball to sports memorabilia. There is also a silent auction, which features some of the best deals in middle Georgia. “Every year, this event gets better and better,” said Mercer Director of Athletics Bobby Pope. “This year we have some great items available, especially in the sports memorabilia.” The “Big Auction” is set to begin at 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, with the silent auction.
