Macon—Effective July 1, Mercer University will pass the gavel in its Registrar’s Office. Paul G. Schnepf, who has served as University registrar since April 1, 1996, will retire at the end of this month, according to Dr. Horace Fleming, executive vice president and provost.

“Paul has provided excellent leadership in that office,” Dr. Fleming said. “The entire Mercer community wishes him and his family the best  for the future.”

Dr. Marilyn Mindingall has been appointed the new University registrar. Mindingall has a Ph.D. in psychology from The Pennsylvania State University, her master’s in clinical psychology, also from Penn State, and bachelor of arts in psychology from Purdue University.

She came to Mercer July 1, 1987, as director of Student Development Services and added responsibility of the Trio program in 1991. In 1996, she was appointed assistant to the provost with emphasis in retention, diversity and gender issues.

In 1997, she was named assistant provost and director of the First Year Experience and Student Achievement Programs. From 1998 to the present, she has served as associate provost for undergraduate studies.

“Dr. Mindingall’s years of  experience here at Mercer will  ensure a  smooth transition into  her new role within the University,” Dr. Fleming said.
