New Interactive Virtual Tour of UC Launched

For the approximately 425,000 persons who have visited the University Center since its opening just over a year ago, those patrons are well aware of the many venues of the $40 million facility. However, for those alumni and other friends of the University who have not yet visited the UC, there is now an option to “tour” the facility.

A new virtual tour, using IPIX technology, is now available on the Mercer Web site that provides a panoramic, interactive visit of the facility. In addition to showcasing the many venues on each of the three levels, viewers can click on “hot links” to travel from one location to another. Features include the capability to “zoom in” or “out” in a particular location, see close up such features as items in the Griffin B. Bell Board Room cases or adjust the speed of their viewing the sites in a 360-degree setting.

Mercer’s Web Management Department facilitated the implementation of the virtual tour.

The new virtual tour is located on the University Center site in the left hand column. A first visit to the virtual tour might require a downloading of IPIX control, which takes only a few seconds.
