College For Kids Graduation Set For Sunday

WHO: Approximately 770 Atlanta-area 1st through 5th grade students and their parents. Nearly 700 of the students hail from Gwinnett County and some of the best-represented schools in the program include: Berkeley Lake Elementary, Camp Creek Elementary, Cooper Elementary, Dacula Elementary, Level Creek Elementary and Riverside Elementary.

WHAT: Students will graduate from Mercer University’s College for Kids program and receive hardback books with published stories they wrote during Mercer’s Budding Authors workshops over the summer.

WHEN: Sunday, Dec. 4, beginning at 1 p.m.
(There will seven ceremonies starting at 1 p.m., each beginning on the hour)

Mercer University Cecil B. Day Campus

(Just off I-85, one exit inside of the perimeter)

BACKGROUND: Students were nominated to participate in Budding Authors by their teachers based on the students’ interest and talent in creative writing. One piece of each student’s writing was published in a hardback book that will be given to participants and their school libraries at the ceremony.
