Funeral for Mercer Student Set for Thursday

Jennifer Liscomb Ross, 19 of Savannah, died late Sunday evening, despite the best efforts of a splendid team of professionals at Memorial Health University Medical Center, of injuries sustained when she was shot during an armed robbery in Orleans Square on December 24, 2005. Born June 21, 1986 at Memorial, she was a lifelong resident of Savannah, a graduate of Savannah Country Day School, and a sophomore at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. A member of Chi Omega sorority, she was majoring in international business with plans to establish her own international design firm. Jennifer was a bright and lively free spirit, who never met a stranger. She relished time spent with her family and friends, and was known for her skill behind the wheel of her powerboat. A member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, she was a much-loved Sunday School teacher for ten years. She was much in demand as a babysitter, by the many families and children who adored her energy and enthusiasm and was honored locally as a Top Teen for her various community service activities, which included, Walk for Life and various food and clothing drives. A student at Savannah Country Day since kindergarten, she lettered in volleyball and soccer in high school, and played both sports at the intramural level in college. In December, she was presented to the Cotillion Club of Savannah. Jennifer is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Russell Ross (Coren); her brother, Joseph Russell Ross Jr., and his fiance’, Miss Sarah Keeler Bosiack; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Richards Kittredge; aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Joseph Bouldin, Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Alan Clark, Mr. and Mrs. William Richards Kittredge Jr., Captain USN Retired, Mrs. John Kirkland Ross and Mr. and Mrs.robert Adger Ross, in addition her first cousins, Henry Joseph Bouldin, William Ernest Bouldin, Thomas Richards Bouldin, Emily Richards Clark, Abigail Elizabeth Clark, Katherine Shawn Kittredge, Lauren Elizabeth Kittredge, Helena Wells Ross, and Robert Adger Ross Jr., and a host of other cousins and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2006 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel. Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 12 Noon at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Burial will be Private. Active Pallbearers will be Joseph Russell Ross Jr., John Jacob Rauers Jr., Henry Joseph Bouldin, Piers Smith, Robert Adger Ross, and John Kirkland Ross. Honorary Pallbearers will be the 2004 Graduating Class of Savannah Country Day.
