MACON, Ga. — Mercer University’s Tift College of Education will host the premiere science teacher education conference in the region when it welcomes the Southeastern Association of Science Teacher Education to campus on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6-7.
The event is the largest of the Association of Science Teacher Education annual conferences. Attendees will learn about breakthroughs in science education research as well as the latest trends in teaching. The conference offers a forum for graduate students and practicing teachers to explore innovative ideas to enhance science teaching and learning with science education faculty.
Stephen Pruitt, science and mathematics program manager for the Georgia Department of Education will deliver the keynote address on Saturday during a luncheon, which will also feature award presentations. The conference begins with registration and a reception at 5 p.m. on Friday in Stetson Hall. Saturday activities will also feature multiple paper presentations as well as demonstrations and workshop sessions.
