Dr. Denton Lotz to speak at Mercer University

Join us for this special opportunity at 10:00 a.m. at the Religious Life Center to
hear one of the world’s foremost Baptist leaders address Gospel work around the globe,
cooperation among Baptist and other Christian organizations, and the road ahead for missions
and evangelism. You will be inspired, uplifted, and challenged!

Dr. Denton Lotz served as a missionary in Eastern and Central Europe, and as a professor at the International Baptist Seminary in Rueschlikon, Switzerland, where he founded the Summer Institute of Theological Education. In 1988, Dr. Lotz was selected as General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the BWA, a worldwide fellowship of over 215 Baptist Unions and conventions comprising a membership of over 36 million Baptist believers. In this position, he is the primary voice of Baptists to international government leaders and leaders of other Christian world communions. A gifted speaker and author, Dr. Lotz is widely recognized for his work as a missiologist and spiritual leader. Lotz received his BA from the University of North Carolina, Bachelor of Sacred Theology from Harvard Divinity School, and Doctor of Theology from the University of Hamburg in Germany. He is charged with providing spiritual leadership in the world-wide relationships among member Conventions and Unions and between the BWA and other Christian groups.
