GJP Director Ammar is Friday’s Law Day Speaker at the University Center

WHY:            Annual observance of the Mercer Law School faculty, staff, students and alumni joining with the legal community of central Georgia to hear one of the nation’s premiere legal figures speak on a legal issue. This year’s speaker is Doug Ammar, executive director of the Georgia Justice Project. Ammar is a graduate of Davidson College and the Washington & Lee Law School. He is in demand as a speaker both nationally and internationally, and has spoken abou the Georgia Justice Project’s innovative and holistic approach to representing clients in Israel and Italy in the last year. The Law and Public Service Program at Mercer began in July 2006 and offers public service learning for students through clinical courses, public interest practicum opportunities and volunteer community service.
