Political Consultants Carville and Matalin to Speak Today at Executive Forum

281

James Carville and Mary Matalin, Washington’s best-loved political couple, will be the featured speakers at The Executive Forum of Mercer University Presented by BB&T, on Wednesday, Nov. 7. The couple will give a lunch presentation at noon at The InterContinental Buckhead, 3315 Peachtree Road NE, in Atlanta, and a dinner presentation at The University Center on the Macon campus.

Carville, America’s best-known political consultant, returns to The Executive Forum, this time with his wife and political opposite, Mary Matalin, who formerly served as assistant to President George W. Bush and counselor to Vice President Dick Cheney, the first White House official to hold that double title. Carville and Matalin give audiences an enlightening and entertaining look at today’s most important political issues as well as a behind-the-scenes look at Washington politics.

Carville, an unbowed liberal and the former co-host of “Crossfire,” and conservative Matalin are key players on the national political stage, having between them worked for every president over the last 25 years. Carville and Matalin combine their unique experience as perennial political insiders to provide audiences with a stimulating, candid and provocative analysis of the day’s headlines and hot-button political issues from both sides of the political aisle for a lively and engaging exchange of views.

The couple offers nearly unparalleled political expertise: in 1992, Matalin served as President George Bush’s campaign manager, while her soon-to-be husband, Carville, was managing Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign.  Now they share their political opinions and affiliations — which haven’t merged despite matrimony — with audiences everywhere.

The couple are co-authors of the national best seller, “All’s Fair: Love, War, and Running for President.” Carville and Matalin most recently appeared together on HBO’s critically acclaimed series, “K Street,” about the world of powerful political consultants.
