MACON — More than 200 Mercer University students will highlight their academic prowess this week at the University Center on Mercer’s Macon campus. The students will showcase their talents on Friday, April 17, as part of two events, the Second Annual Engineering Expo and the Third Annual Mercer University Undergraduate Research Symposium. Both events will take place from 2 – 5 p.m.

Engineering Expo
The Second Annual Mercer Engineering Expo is an expansion of the extraordinarily successful Introduction to Engineering Design Competition of the School of Engineering. The Expo will be held in the University Center Arena. The competition portion of the Expo will feature teams of three to four first-year engineering students pitting their designs against each other in Cable Car, Hill Climber, Off-Road Derby, Rampster and Tug-of-War events.  The competition will begin at 3 p.m. with winners determined by 5 p.m.

The Mercer Undergraduate Research Symposium
The Undergraduate Research Symposium will include 58 poster presentations by 84 students from 14 departments across the Macon campus from 2 to 4 p.m. in Heritage Hall.
