The Internationally Renowned Ten Tenors to Perform at The Grand
MACON – Australia’s The Ten Tenors, an international sensation, will reignite Macon when they perform their “Nostalgica World Tour 2009,” a rousing musical tribute from the land down under at The Grand Opera House, a performing arts center of Mercer University, on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $42 and can be purchased through Mercer Ticket Sales at (478) 301-5470 or online at www.TheGrandMacon.com.
The internationally-acclaimed singing sensation The Ten Tenors have now been seen by more than 90 million people on four continents, selling out shows and winning hearts with their unmistakable charm, camaraderie and vocal power in opera, pop, rock and more. The concert is part of The Tenors’ blockbuster yearlong global trek in support of their current CD release and eighth studio album, “Nostalgica.”
“‘Nostalgica’ is not only a songbook journey through the hits of the 20th Century by the artists that made them great, but also a trek through The Ten Tenors’ decade-long history - a ‘Greatest Hits’ tour with a twist,” said show musical director Graham Foote.
This will be the Tenors’ third show at The Grand – where they have performed to sold out shows and rave reviews. The group has appeared on ABC-TV’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” season finale and performed alongside such diverse artists as Rod Stewart, Andrea Boccelli, Alanis Morissette, Willie Nelson and Christina Aguilera to name but a few.
Their CD “One Is Not Enough” reached the Top 10 on the European pop charts and they were invited by Disney to record the theme song “Jungle Rhythm” for the film “Jungle Book 2” (2003). They have been awarded ‘Best Artist Pop Meets Classics Award’ by the Radio Hamburg Awards and received The Variety Group of the Year Award at the 29th Annual Australian Entertainment MO Awards. They have achieved multi-platinum status for both their DVDs and CDs in countries around the globe.
