MACON — Mercer fans will be in the spirit tonight as the Bears get ready for a men’s basketball match-up with Lipscomb in the first round of the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships at 9 in the University Center. The festivities begin with a Mercer A-Sun Basketball Tailgate at 8 p.m. for all Mercer fans on the University Center Patio. QuadWorks is sponsoring the pre-game pep rally, which will include free pizza to all who attend (and show their Mercer ID). Included will be give-aways, music from Mercer Radio and a drawing of bookstore gift cards for students.
Mercer is again hosting the A-Sun men’s and women’s tournaments and the men are hoping to take it one step farther this year to make it into the Big Dance, after falling in the finals of last year’s tournament.
